Gotta Wear Shades

Start with a color dark at the hips and gradually change to lighter colors towards the face.  This easy-to-make, sleeveless, round neck, with gentle decreasing towards the armholes makes this an A-line with slits-at-the-sides pattern is perfect for the warm days of summer over leggings.  Make this in your favorite cotton yarn that comes in colors you would like to combine.  Easy to follow directions  We used a cotton tape, but any yarn with the same gauge will work.

 

Materials:

Katia Tahiti cotton

4 colors: A, B, C, D

36”- 2 balls A, 2 balls B, 2 balls C, 3 balls D

40”- 2 balls A, 2 balls B, 2 balls C, 3 balls D

44”- 4 balls A, 4 balls B, 4 balls C, 5 balls D

48”- 5 balls A, 5 balls B, 5 balls C, 6 balls D

52”- 6 balls A, 6 balls B, 6 balls C, 7 balls D

Size 8 U.S. needles for ribbing

Size 10 U.S. needles for body of sweater (or size to obtain gauge)

Gauge:  Any yarn can be used as long as you can get this gauge.

16 stitches = 4 inches in stockinette stitch.
